Objectives of 18th IFNGO ASEAN Workshop
|
1. To provide a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and innovative modalities for prevention of drug and substance abuse for IFNGO ASEAN NGO members & iogt international members.
2. To review the extent of implementation of the 17th IFNGO ASEAN NGOs workshop recommendations and to identify problems addressed by IFNGO ASEAN NGO members in implementing them.
3. To formulate recommendations to ensure continuity and sustainability of drug & substance abuse prevention programmes and modalities.
4. To involve youth as role models in drug abuse prevention in schools and communities and to highlight PEMADAM Malaysia's flagship project - Sahabat PEMADAM.
5. To focus on the global burden of disease from alcohol and reiterate the importance of national & regional programmes and policies for prevention of alcohol abuse.
6. To stress the importance of religion and family in helping youth to pursue happy, healthy and wholesome drug-free lifestyles.
